The Proposed Peace Trail

The proposed Peace Trail travels from the Mennonite Landing Site where the Rat River flows into the Red River, near Niverville, MB, and ends at the Dirk Willems Peace Monument at the Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach, MB. Covering a total distance of 55km, the trail is intended for east-bound travel on foot or bike, and can be covered in one trip or multiple segments. The waypoints are also accessible by vehicle.

We are in Treaty 1 territory, the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
